I'm an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University, and co-director of the Vision Sciences Lab. My group is interested in visual perception, attention, and memory. The overarching goal of our work is to understand the nature of our visual-cognitive abilities, and their capacity limitations. Current research topics include neural constraints on attentional allocation; the fluid allocation of attention and memory resources; efficient coding in perception and memory; ensemble coding (a.k.a. set perception, statistical perception, holistic processing); the use of statistical learning to form more efficient representations.
